How To Use NoWaitsy
Find a nearby restaurant Browse the Home list or search by name, cuisine, or address.
Open NoWaitsy to see restaurants near your current location. You can also tap the location label under the app name to choose an address, then search around that area instead.
Read a wait time Use the wait label, update age, and confidence together.
Waits are most useful when they are fresh. If a restaurant has older but still valid updates, NoWaitsy may show the latest update with age copy so you know how much to trust it.
Share a wait update Tap Add wait or Update wait from a restaurant page.
Choose the closest wait bucket, then add optional crowd context if you want. Quick updates help the next nearby diner decide faster.
Pin favorite spots Keep up to 3 regular restaurants easy to check.
Pinning is stored on your device. Pinned restaurants sort above other places in the app and can appear in the iOS widget when you use an installed build.
Common Questions
Do I need an account? No. NoWaitsy is login-free for the current app.
Your app identity is anonymous and generated on your device. Settings shows the generated profile label, but there is no account sign-in or public profile.
Is location required? No. You can choose an address instead.
Location helps NoWaitsy show nearby restaurants faster. If you skip it, you can still search or pick an address manually, and you can change permissions later in Settings.
Why does a wait look old? Restaurants can be quiet, and updates come from nearby people.
NoWaitsy uses crowd-reported wait updates. Fresh updates are best, but older valid updates may still help when no one has reported recently.
Can I turn notifications off? Yes. Notifications are optional.
Use Settings in the app to change contribution-impact notifications. You can also manage notification permission from your device settings.
Why do widgets not show in Expo Go? iOS widgets require an installed development, TestFlight, or App Store build.
The app remains usable in Expo Go, but the native pinned wait widget only works from an installed iOS build that includes the widget extension.
